TRUE OR FALSE??? Both! It is true turkey does have tryptophan. It is a chemical that helps make a hormone that . But turkey doesn't have any more tryptophan than any other animal protein food. So why do you get sleepy at Thanksgiving? Most likely because you also ate too much and have extended your stomach. Plus you probably had a lot of carbs: potatoes, fruit, vegetables, stuffing, rolls, pie, soda. Face it. You are full and maybe even a little nauseated. Better take a nap:)
